We were actually looking for Nebula Stone at the end of the day when we found a beautiful unusual chocolate and vanilla colored stone with an amazing assortment of sizes and shapes of orbs (orbicules/spherulites) of fine detail. Over the years we have found very, very few.
They were highly visible, when we did find them...at the end of the day. It was the eyes that would catch our attention. They seemed to catch even the smallest amount of light. We found them usually at sunset where they stood out amongst all the other stones, where they glowed with what could be described as a soft moon glow. Whenever we did find one it was like, as we mentioned on our Palm Stone page, when we would find a nice Nebula Palm Stone, we would run to one another holding the gift in our hand behind our back and then tell the other to close their eyes and hold out their hand. Then we would put the stone in the others hand and then open our eyes and see the surprise right before us, "Wow" was the most immediate word that first came out.
Well, finally we decided to do our web site and get some photos up on the screen. We found so few that we have not analyzed them and do not know what their mineralogical content might be, nor do we know how they originated. Our guess would be that they are of igneous origin, as is Nebula Stone.
We only know that we found few and they are each eye catching and unique.
One collector said she found herself drooling at the Chocolate Galaxy micro mount photos we sent her. She described them as Geologic Pin-ups.

!["Some of the Things That Molecules Do"[22] March 16, 2014 (2014-03-16) The story begins with Tyson sitting at a campfire, and telling how the wolf changed through artificial selection, and selective breeding into the dog breeds around today. He then enters the Ship of Imagination, and explains natural selection with the process that helped to create the polar bears. Along the way he talks about DNA, genes and mutation. Next he goes to a forest and describes the Tree of life, this leads him to discussing the evolution of the eye. He then discusses extinction, by going to a monument called the Halls of Extinction, dedicated to the broken branches of the tree of life. Explaining the five great Extinction events. He then tells how some life has survived, and then focuses on the tardigrade. From there he talks about what other kinds of life might have been created on other worlds. He then goes to Saturn's moon Titan. From there he speculates about life and how it first began. He then returns to Earth and tells about abiogenesis and how life changed and evolved.
